Undressing

‘Undressing’ is a ninety-page novella that you can download as a .pdf file, to print, read on a computer, or transfer to an electronic reader.

Like many writers I’m curious about whether new technology will allow me to connect with readers in new ways. One day I may decide to publish Undressing in a more conventional format, but for now it’s only available here, and costs £2.75. I may even incorporate readers’ feedback into a future draft, so your critique can help to shape the story.

‘Undressing’ concerns a student in a remote Italian town in the 1970’s who gets a temporary job in a lingerie shop during the university holidays, a move that precipitates her own political and sexual awakening.

Unlike some of my other writing, this isn’t a comedy – it’s a more sensual, poetic piece, a simple coming-of-age story set in a time and place that has always interested me.
